Steps to Completion
STEP 1: The Needs Assessment
You must first take an Assessment, which is 143 questions about you and your lifestyle. The Assessment takes approximately 30-45 minutes and the cost is $100.00 (fee is set by State law). We accept Cash, Money Order, American Express, Mastercard, Visa or Debit cards as payment.
You may take the Assessment anytime during our regular business hours, which are:
- Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
If you are unable to take the Assessment during these hours, please contact the office manager at the location you wish to attend and set up a day and time convenient for you.
STEP 2: The 20-hour DUI Course
To take the 20-hour DUI course, you will need:
- A computer or mobile device connected to the Internet: You must have a device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) with a working webcam and microphone. You are required to remain on camera and visible to the instructor for the entire 20-hour class.
- Perfect attendance: The 20-hour course is broken into several sessions. A very common schedule is:
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (with a lunch break)
- Sunday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (with a lunch break)
- Monday: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Class Participation: The DUI class is instructor-led and interactive. You will be expected to participate in group discussions and activities, similar to an in-person class.
- Take a Final Assessment Test: At the end of the 20-hour course, you will take the final test, which is also administered remotely.
Earn your Certificate of Completion: Once you complete the assessment, attend all 20 hours, and pass the final test, the Georgia DUI Schools will email you the official DDS Certificate of Completion.
STEP 3: Certificate of Completion
This is the official document that proves you have fulfilled the state’s requirements.
- How you get it: You will be issued your Certificate of Completion immediately after you successfully finish the final session of the 20-hour course.
- What it’s for: This is the legal document you must physically submit to the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS), the court, or your probation officer. It is your key to getting your driver’s license reinstated and satisfying your legal obligations.
